Reports to: Service Delivery Manager, with a dedicated mentor
Location: Thornaby HQ and client sites
Hours: Full time, including study towards a recognised qualification
Role purpose
To start a proper career in IT with full training and mentoring, working alongside experienced engineers and supporting real clients from day one. We have two apprenticeship positions available.
Key responsibilities
- Learn to provide first line IT support under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Log, triage and resolve support tickets.
- Set up and configure laptops, PCs and user accounts in Microsoft 365.
- Learn networking, security and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Work towards a recognised Level 3 IT apprenticeship qualification (for example, Information Communications Technician).
- Develop strong customer service and communication skills.
- Shadow senior engineers on site and on client projects.
Essential skills and experience
- Genuine enthusiasm for technology and a real desire to learn.
- Good communication skills and a positive, can do attitude.
- Reliable, punctual and happy to work as part of a team.
- Meets the entry requirements for a Level 3 IT apprenticeship (typically GCSEs including maths and English at grade 4 or above, or equivalent).
Desirable
- Any prior IT experience, college coursework or home tinkering.
- A full or provisional UK driving licence, or working towards one.
